Why me?

I started translating back in 2003, and have worked on a wide range of different projects. The bulk of my work has been translations from German and English into Dutch, but I’ve also successfully translated from the French and into German and English.

I stand out from the crowd because I go that extra mile*. Of course I offer precise high quality translations. But I also make sure communication is flexible. It means I can handle very urgent projects, discuss creative localization that works, proofread the source document, and even provide useful input on the content itself, if you so wish.

Competitive pricing

I calculate my prices per individual project, a practice that often results in significant discounts. My quotation will start from the base price of € 0.08 or equivalent per word, applying discounts for word repetitions and TM matches, volume, and topic. Below is an pricing example.

Language Combination Number of words Topic Total Price Notes
English to Dutch 10.000 Words Technical user manual € 750.00 Discount of € 50 because of volume
German to Dutch 2.000 Words Magazine articles € 150.00 Small discount based on fuzzy matches
English to Dutch 1.000 Words Website Non-profit € 60.00 Discount because of topic

CAT Excellence

I use a range of CAT tools, including SDL Trados, Wordfast Pro, and Okapi Studio, and work with remote TMs and web-based translation interfaces. Because of my background in Computer Science, I am able to learn new tools quickly. I also offer complete website translation (for example WordPress and Drupal websites) using getText and poedit (.pot-files).

It’s in the Cloud

The way I work allows me to make optimal use of new technologies as they arrive. My system is constantly synchronized with secure cloud services, allowing me to meet a deadline even in the event of a local power cut (remember the super storms?).

Network of translators

I know many other freelancers, offering translations in a wide range of languages, and I am happy to introduce them to you.

Additional Services

The following additional services are also available:
